Mara serves global omega-3 customers with DHA fatty acids produced by an FSCC 22000 accredited, fully enclosed and controlled process. Our oil is recovered via solvent-free processing, and our products are Halal and Kosher certified.
Regulatory Approvals
Our algal oil has received the required approvals for sale in the US (GRAS) and european (substantial equivalence) food and supplement markets. Our product has also received approval from the European Food Standards Agency (FSA), allowing use in infant formula.
Strong IP
Our scientists have isolated a marine microalgal strain straight from the pristine waters of the Bay of Fundy in Atlantic Canada. We’ve evolved Schizochytrium sp. T18 through a patent-protected process, for the production of omega-3 DHA fatty acids, and commercially farm this highly resilient strain via fermentation and manufacturing at our production facility in the UK.
